Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long will my therapy session last?
    Sessions range from 30-75 minutes.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, we require at least 48 hours' notice; otherwise, you will be charged the full fee for your appointment.
  • Do you accept Insurance?
    Services may be covered in full or part by your health insurance or health savings programs. Prior to scheduling your first appointment, please check your coverage. We accept most insurance plans, including: Aetna Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO Cigna Humana Magellan Multi-Plan United Behavioral Healthcare Here are some additional questions that you can ask your insurance provider: Do I have mental or behavioral health insurance benefits? What is my deductible and has it been met? What is the coverage amount per therapy session? Is approval required from my primary care physician, insurance company or other third party? How much will I need to pay out of pocket for each session?
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    All forms of payment are accepted such as Health savings account, Cash, Check, Visa, Master Card, American Express.
  • Are there any forms that need to be filled out prior to our session?
    Yes, please complete the Intake Form and HIPAA/Privacy notice and bring them with you to your first appointment.
  • How do I inquire about services with According to Sykes?

Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without your written permission. Exceptions required by law and ethics include: Any suspected abuse or neglect of dependent adult, children and elderly person, require that the information is reported to the appropriate authorities immediately.  If a person intends to harm himself/herself, make every effort to develop a plan that insures safety. Otherwise every effort will be made to ensure your safety e.g. contacting emergency services.  If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), law requires that the intended victim is informed immediately.
